Be precious

PRECIEUSE

My hidden treasures…

This summer I sense a perfumed breeze on the edge of the horizon.

Although everything feels the same as last year

but one thing : this time, I really feel

like myself.

I understood that I was unique thanks to the crown

that I proudly wear : modesty.

Being modest allows me to express myself with :

my soul.

I, then close my eyes and can finally feel at peace,

the peace that I have been seeking for so long !

I feel a lot of serenity in my heart because I finally found the key

and understood who I really am.

Reveal your wisdom

and your inner skills because the truth is at the center of your soul.

Being tsnius (modest) is about dress and so much more. It extends to thought speech and action. When a women is truly tsnius (modest) she feels most herself without distractions or outside influences telling her to be some what different than how she was created- which is to be her feminine self.

There are things we do because we know the reason for them. There are Mitzvos (good actions) that the reasoning, rewards, or punishments are written for why we do or do not commit an act. And there are some that we do for the sheer reasons that Hachem (G-d) wants us to do them. For me, Tznius (modesty) is one of these things. Tznius (modesty) is not something that I’ve personally found to be something that I’ve struggled intensely with, but that doesn’t make it simple. At the base of it all, remembering that my Neshama (soul) and heart want to do what Hashem (G-d) wants, and fulfilling this Mitzvah (good action) is a part of that, keeps me on the right track and keeps me finding the beauty and joy in it every single day.

Modesty is something that should be revealed in every woman : On the outside such as with our global appareance like clothing but also our we should perceive it on the inside such as with our conversation. If we talk about clothes, jewish modesty has strict rules : the neckline should cover the clavicles, the sleeves cover the elbows and the skirt to the knees. No transparent, translucent and tight clothing, as well as tights are required. There are a lot of laws, but this is not the main point. As for other aspects, we don’t have clear rules : girls should feel how to behave in a particular situation. Each girl is a daughter of the King and should take this burden with pride, becaise it is such a great honor.

I will say that being modest is mainly to know how to respect your body and also to be able to express something else that our exterior appareance. To be respected and listened not thanks to our body but thanks to what we have to say. I understand that to be modest is something which may be difficult especially if you did not grow up in a family where people were cultivated and were acting with modesty. You have to know that it can be hard sometimes to be modest and this is only step by step that you will be able to feel modest and be seen as somebody who is modest.
